8 best beach hotels in Anchorage

Beach hotels in Anchorage is a useful label, but it needs a practical reading. Anchorage is not a classic seaside resort, so in this context “beach hotels” usually means properties that give easy access to the water, coastal walks, and the city’s wider outdoor setting, rather than hotels sitting directly on a sandy beachfront. The best choices suit travellers who want a base for exploring the city and the surrounding landscape, while still being close enough to the coast for scenic views, fresh air, and a sense of space.

That makes these hotels a good fit for a broad mix of stays: short city breaks, stopovers, business trips, and longer visits where comfort and convenience matter. Hotel Captain Cook stands out as the highest-rated option in this list, while Staybridge Suites Anchorage is a strong pick for guests who value a more independent stay. Mid-range choices such as Hilton Garden Inn Anchorage and Marriott Anchorage Downtown suit travellers who want a reliable city base, and airport-area hotels like Comfort Suites Anchorage International Airport and Courtyard By Marriott Anchorage Airport are practical for arrivals and early departures.

In short, the best beach hotels in Anchorage are not defined by sun loungers on the sand, but by location, comfort, and access to the city’s coastal character. They work well for visitors who want Anchorage as a base for both urban and outdoor plans.
