8 best hotels for hiking in Rishikesh

Hotels for hiking in Rishikesh need to do more than offer a bed for the night. For walkers and trekkers, the best stays are those that make early starts easy, provide a calm place to recover afterwards, and sit within reach of the trails, river paths and hill country that draw active travellers to the area. In practice, that means a hotel with dependable comfort, good guest feedback, and a setting that suits a day spent outdoors rather than a city break built around shopping or nightlife.

Rishikesh is a strong fit for this kind of stay because it combines a relaxed pace with access to nature and outdoor activity. The hotels in this list cover a useful spread of budgets and styles, from simple, well-rated bases such as GreenDay Escapes and Mount Valley Mama Cottage to higher-category options like Holy River Hotel. Several properties also stand out for exceptional guest scores, including Hotel Shiva Yog Sthal and Pebbles Resort, both at 9.8, along with Hotel Holiday Hill and Ganga Forest View.

For hiking-focused stays, the most suitable hotels are the ones that balance comfort, location and value. Nature Care Village may appeal to travellers wanting a quieter, more restorative atmosphere, while the better-rated 3-star and 4-star options suit guests who want a little more polish without losing easy access to the outdoors. Overall, these are the kinds of hotels that work well for active couples, solo walkers and small groups planning to spend more time on the trails than in the room.
