8 best historic hotels in Lagundo

Historic hotels in Lagundo are best understood as places where the setting, building character and sense of continuity matter as much as the room itself. In practice, that means hotels that feel rooted in the area’s long-established hospitality tradition, often with a more personal scale, a distinctive house style and a quieter atmosphere than a standard modern stay. In Lagundo, this suits travellers who want a base with character rather than a purely functional overnight stop: couples, relaxed leisure visitors, walkers and anyone planning a slower holiday in the Merano area.

The best historic-style options here include names such as Schlosswirt Forst, SCHLOSS PLARS Wine & Suites, Plarserhof and Tholer, alongside well-rated residences and aparthotels including Residence Der Heinrichshof, Villaverde Aparthotel, Panorama Residence Öhlerhof and Appartements Elke. Together they show that “historic” in Lagundo can range from a traditional inn feel to a more heritage-led residence, while still offering the comfort expected by today’s guests. Guest scores are consistently high, which suggests these properties are valued not only for atmosphere but also for service and overall quality.

Lagundo itself has an easygoing, scenic character that works well for this kind of stay. A historic hotel here is less about formal grandeur and more about a sense of place, making it a good fit for visitors who prefer authenticity, calm and a connection to local tradition.
