Why ski hotels, why here
Ski hotels in Elati sit in a pine-fringed mountain village setting in Thessaly, about 32 km from Trikala, which makes it a cosy base for winter breaks rather than a remote lodge experience. Elati is commonly described as a highland winter resort on the slopes of Koziakas, surrounded by fir forests—an ideal backdrop for skiers who want warm hospitality and village ambience between runs.
For atmosphere and convenience, stay close to Elati’s central village life around Elati Square, where cafés and tavernas help you unwind after a day on the snow. If you prefer a calmer rhythm, choosing accommodation slightly off the main square puts you nearer to the slower pace of forest walks and mountain scenery that Elati is known for.
These “ski hotels” are best suited to travellers who want easy access to the nearby ski action (including Pertouli Ski Resort, a key draw for winter visitors from Elati) while valuing comfort, good value, and quick returns to dinner and sleep. In this selection, options range from guesthouses to larger hotels—such as Fretzato (2★) and Hotel Athina (4★)—so families, couples, and groups can match their skiing plans with the right level of service and budget.
