About Florianopolis
Florianópolis is the capital of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil, with most visitor life on Santa Catarina Island and a smaller mainland section linked by bridges. It had 537,211 residents at the 2022 census and an estimated 587,486 in 2025, but it feels more like several small destinations joined together: a practical historic centre, polished northern beach districts, relaxed eastern surf areas and quieter southern villages.
