1. Stay near the thing you came for: Hushan or Baishalu for city convenience, Guanhaiwei for Minghe, Shanglin Lake and Wulei Mountain, Longshan for Dapeng Mountain and Yu’s Old Residence, and Qianwan for Fantawild or the wetland.
2. Carry small change or set up mobile payments before boarding buses, as official bus guidance says cash fares do not provide change.
3. Use Yuyao North strategically if arriving by high-speed rail; bus routes link it with central Cixi, Guanhaiwei, Hangzhou Bay Century City and Longshan.
4. Time seasonal food around bayberry season. Cixi promotes itself as the origin of Biqi bayberries, with fresh yangmei usually a late May and June pleasure.
