About Longyan
Longyan sits in inland western Fujian, with Xinluo District as the main urban centre and Yongding, Changting, Liancheng, Shanghang, Wuping and Zhangping spreading into mountainous Hakka country. The main draw is Yongding’s Fujian Tulou, part of the UNESCO-listed Fujian Tulou property, but you also have Guanzhai Mountain in Liancheng, the Gutian Conference Site in Shanghang and old Tingzhou culture in Changting. It suits you best if you’re happy to plan county-to-county travel rather than treating Longyan as one compact city break.
