Xiaogan hotels like a local.
You use Xiaogan as a lower-key Hubei base for filial-piety culture, hot springs, lake-and-mountain trips, and the rail link towards Wuhan Tianhe Airport.

About Xiaogan
Xiaogan sits in north-central to east-central Hubei and borders Wuhan. Its name is tied to the Dong Yong filial-piety legend; Hubei’s official guide explains that “Xiaogan” means “filial piety” and links the city’s identity to that story. You shouldn’t expect the scale or international profile of Wuhan, but you do get practical city stays, museums, parks, riverfront night-tour culture, and nearby scenic areas including Shuangfeng Mountain, Guanyin Lake, Baizhao Mountain and Yingcheng Tangchi Hot Spring.
