Calderon hotels like a local.
You come to Calderón for Quito’s craft-led northern edge: mazapán figurines, woodwork, parish churches, viewpoints and practical links to the capital’s bigger sights.

About Calderon
Calderón is a rural parish in the Metropolitan District of Quito, northeast of central Quito. It’s better understood as a lived-in Andean district than a polished resort area, with local markets, small eateries, churches, miradores and artisan routes focused on mazapán and wood handicrafts. You can stay here for a lower-key north-side base, especially if you have family, work or road-trip plans in the area, but most first-time visitors will find more hotel choice in Quito proper and visit Calderón as a half-day craft and viewpoint stop.
