Kaunas hotels like a local.
Kaunas is Lithuania’s compact, creative second city, with medieval streets by the Nemunas and Neris, interwar modernism, strong museums, street art, bars, and basketball energy.

About Kaunas
You get the best of Kaunas over two or three nights: Old Town sits by the Nemunas and Neris confluence, the city is first mentioned in writing in 1361, and its years as Lithuania’s temporary capital from 1919 to 1939 left New Town and Žaliakalnis with a major stock of interwar modernist architecture. Today it’s easy to walk, good for museums and cafés, and generally calmer and cheaper than many better-known European capitals.
