Long Island Citywhere to stay.

Long Island City (LIC) is a modern, waterfront-heavy corner of Queens with easy access to Midtown Manhattan—ideal for travellers who want skyline views, fresh dining, and an atmospheric mix of arts and industry. For the classic “wow” moment, head to Gantry Plaza State Park, a riverside stroll across from the UN with multiple piers and restored gantries framing the skyline.

Where to stay (best-fit picks from your list)

- Closest to the LIC/Manhattan-views vibe: Home2 Suites by Hilton New York Long Island City/ Manhattan View (3★) or Wingate by Wyndham Long Island City (3★)—good bases for newer waterfront energy. - Stylish, slightly more upscale feel: Graduate by Hilton New York (4★) (great if you prefer a more design-led, hotel-forward stay) or The Vanderbilt Hotel Suites (3★) for apartment-style comfort. - If you’re open to “nearby access” more than LIC-specific character: Asiatic Hotel by LaGuardia Airport (2★) (airport convenience) or Hampton Inn And Suites Rockville Centre (3★) (not in LIC, but useful if you’re mixing areas).

Walkability & getting around

LIC is best explored on foot along the waterfront and around transit hubs, then broadened with the subway and commuter routes across to Manhattan; New York transit planning resources are available via the MTA.

Dining & nightlife

LIC’s food scene clusters around key stations and museum-adjacent areas, with plenty of options near MoMA PS1 (including diners and Japanese/sushi choices). For after-dark vibes, Hunter’s Point South Park sits in an area with lots of bar-and-club options within the local attractions orbit.
