Derfor skal du bo nær Timeride Dresden
TimeRide Dresden is a 45-minute guided virtual-reality experience that drops you into the city as it looked in 1719, during the wedding celebrations of August the Strong. Instead of wandering galleries, you move through three staged rooms that build toward a seated VR carriage ride through Baroque streets. People come because it’s compact, indoors, and easy to fit between other Old Town sights. It also sits right in Dresden’s historic center, a short walk from the Zwinger and Postplatz, making it a practical add-on rather than a day-long commitment.
Om Timeride Dresden
TimeRide Dresden has operated since 2018 as part of the wider TimeRide project, which focuses on immersive urban history across several German cities. The Dresden location is at Taschenberg 3, beside the Sophienkeller restaurant and opposite the Cholerabrunnen fountain.
The main experience, “Dresden 1719,” unfolds in three clearly structured stages. First comes a live introduction, where a guide explains Dresden’s Baroque period and the role of the Wettin dynasty. Next is an animated paper-theatre scene showing everyday life in the early 18th century. The final stage is a seated VR carriage ride through the old city, culminating in the royal wedding festivities at the Zwinger.
Visits last about 45 minutes and run in German or English, depending on the time slot. Entry is permitted from age six; younger children aren’t admitted, even with adults.
