1. Don’t assume every beach is safe for swimming. Médano and Santa María are promoted for swimming and snorkelling, but many Pacific-facing beaches have rougher conditions, so check flags and local advice before entering.
2. Book San José dinner around Art Walk, not after you arrive. Thursday evenings from November to June bring extra foot traffic to the Gallery District, and the official Art Walk runs 5–9 p.m.
3. For Cabo Pulmo, rent a car or book a proper tour. CONANP says access to the protected area is by road and lists transport as private or rental car, with San José del Cabo 98.1 kilometres away.
4. Use the airport bus only if your luggage and hotel location make sense. Ruta del Desierto is cheap, but airport guidance says hotel stops are mostly along the highway and some travellers may need to cross roads or walk to resorts.
5. Stay in the area that matches your evenings. Cabo San Lucas is the nightlife base, San José Centro is the dining and art base, and the Corridor is a resort base; switching between them at night usually means a paid ride.
