Comparing hotel prices can mean switching between tabs, checking whether the room, cancellation policy and included extras are really the same.

That's the bit we wanted to fix.

We bring together available hotel rates from our connected providers and show them side by side, including options that do not earn us a fee. Coverage and prices depend on your destination and dates.

Where a member rate is available, Power-Down lets you explore a lower price. Check the room details, payment terms and cancellation policy before booking.

PriceRoom is a membership service. Anyone can search and compare here — but our own rates, the ones below the public price, are members’ rates, and you’ll need an account to see and book them.

That’s not a marketing device. The hotels and wholesalers we buy from allow these rates to be sold only to a closed group of members, never quoted openly on the web. It’s the condition we get them on, and the reason we can sometimes be cheaper than sites showing you a public price.

So the account is the door to the price, not a hurdle in front of it.

Pull the price down to what you think the room is worth. If we can get it, it's yours — same hotel, same room, same terms.

We won't always be able to. When a hotel's price is already as low as it goes, we'll tell you that and show you who's cheapest instead, even when that isn't us.

Here is how the service is funded.

When you book through PriceRoom, our price includes a margin above the supplier rate. When you follow a link to another booking site, we may receive a referral fee.

We show available comparison prices even when we do not earn a referral fee from them.

• No countdown timers or “3 people are viewing this room”.
• No fees that appear at the last step.
• No burying a cheaper option because it earns us less.
• No pretending a price is available when it isn't.

PriceRoom is new. We'd rather say that plainly than pad this page with numbers.

We're based in London, we book real rooms with real suppliers, and there's a person who answers when you write to us. If something goes wrong, that's who you'll be dealing with.
