5 best hotels for groups in Nikkō

Hotels for groups in Nikkō need to do more than simply offer several beds. The best options give everyone enough space to stay comfortably together, with room layouts or whole-property stays that suit families, friends, or small tour parties travelling as one. In practice, that often means guesthouses, apartments, and simple inns where you can share common areas, keep plans flexible, and avoid splitting across multiple rooms or buildings. In Nikkō, that can be especially useful for groups wanting an easy base for sightseeing, with a quieter stay and straightforward access to the area’s natural and cultural appeal.

This list brings together properties that are well suited to group travel, from compact stays such as Morinouta and Nikko Nishimachi Club to highly rated options like Sanga Nikko and Nikko Stay House Arai. Several are small-scale stays rather than large chain hotels, which can work well for groups that value privacy, self-sufficiency, and a more local feel. Hostel-style and vacation-rental options, including Sudomari Inn Guesthouse Nikko - Hostel and the Nikko Stay House Arai vacation stays, are particularly practical when the priority is keeping everyone together under one booking. A property such as Capacity of 6 people / Nikko Tochigi is a clear fit for a defined group size, while the strongest guest ratings suggest consistently good experiences across different budgets and styles. Overall, the best hotels for groups in Nikkō are those that combine space, flexibility, and a simple shared stay.
