8 best lakefront hotels in Nainital

Lakefront hotels in Nainital are best understood as stays that place the lake at the heart of the experience, whether through direct water views, very close access, or a setting that makes the lake the main reason to choose the property. In a hill town known for its cooler climate, slower pace and scenic outlooks, this kind of hotel suits travellers who want to wake up to the water, spend more time walking by the shore, and keep sightseeing secondary to the setting itself.

The strongest options in this category tend to balance location with comfort rather than luxury alone. Properties such as Hotel Harshikhar and Moustache Select Naukuchiatal stand out for their high guest ratings, while jüSTa Lake View Residences, Nainital and Hotel New Payal -Nainital may appeal to guests looking for a more straightforward base with lake-oriented access or views. Cottages at Village, Royal Rosette, Hotel Goludev Valley View and Hotel Silverton broaden the choice further, giving travellers a range of styles and standards without losing the appeal of a lakeside stay.

These hotels are a good fit for couples, families and short-break visitors who value scenery, easy access to the water and a relaxed atmosphere. They also suit travellers who prefer to stay in a place where the view matters as much as the room itself. For a lake-centred trip to Nainital, the right hotel should feel connected to the water, not merely located somewhere in the town.
