Sofia hotels like a local.
You get Roman streets under the metro, Orthodox domes above the rooftops, and Vitosha Mountain at the end of the boulevard.

About Sofia
Sofia is Bulgaria’s capital, set in western Bulgaria at the foot of Vitosha Mountain. For a first visit, you’ll usually do best in the centre, where Ancient Serdica, St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Vitosha Boulevard, the National Palace of Culture, museums, restaurants, and metro links sit close together. The city mixes Roman, Ottoman, Orthodox, socialist-era, and modern layers, so it works well if you like history, cafés, parks, and easy public transport without the prices of many larger European capitals.
