Budget hotels in Sousse are the kind of stays that keep costs down without stripping away comfort, location or a sense of place. In practical terms, that means clean rooms, reliable basics, and a price point that leaves room in the trip budget for meals, transport and time on the coast. The best value options are not always the cheapest by star rating alone; they are the ones that deliver a straightforward, well-kept stay with solid guest feedback.

This list is aimed at travellers who want an affordable base for a beach break, a city stopover or a more flexible longer stay. Couples, solo travellers, friends and families can all find something suitable, depending on whether they want a simple room, a small residence or a more characterful guesthouse-style property. In Sousse, that often means choosing between practical city-centre convenience and a quieter, more local-feeling stay, with the added benefit of being able to explore the city’s lively, coastal atmosphere without overspending.

The hotels below include a mix of 1-star to 3-star options, from guest-favourite stays such as Dar Hkaïem and Villa Azaiiza to more modest choices like Hôtel Medina and Hotel Soussana. A strong budget hotel here should feel good value for money, well reviewed by guests, and honest about what it offers: no unnecessary extras, but enough comfort to make the stay easy. That balance is what separates a genuinely budget-friendly hotel from one that is simply cheap.
