Därför bor du nära Larcomar
Larcomar is an open‑air shopping and dining complex built directly into the coastal cliffs of Miraflores, overlooking Lima’s Costa Verde and the Pacific Ocean. It sits where Avenida José Larco meets the Malecón de la Reserva, so it feels less like a sealed mall and more like an extension of the clifftop parks. People come for the ocean views, walking paths, and restaurants rather than shopping alone. Entry is free, and the public spaces blend into the malecón above, which means you’ll see joggers in the morning, couples at sunset, and visitors stopping for a meal with a view. Its most distinctive feature is the multi‑level layout carved into the cliff itself.
Om Larcomar
The land occupied by Larcomar was originally part of Parque Alfredo Salazar, inaugurated in 1953 in memory of Peruvian aviator Alfredo Salazar Southwell. Before redevelopment, the park included gardens, monuments, and a concha acústica used for public cultural events. Plans in the 1990s to replace part of this space with a commercial complex were controversial and drew criticism from residents and public figures. Despite opposition, Larcomar officially opened on 27 November 1998, designed by architect Eduardo Figari Gold. In 2010, ownership transferred to Chilean operator Parque Arauco S.A.
Today, Larcomar functions as both a commercial centre and a continuation of the Miraflores malecón park system. Instead of enclosed corridors, it has multiple open levels connected by ramps and stairs, with views out to the ocean. Visitors move between public walking paths, restaurants, entertainment venues, and lookout points, making it as much a social and recreational space as a place to shop.
