Beach hotels in Beppu are best understood as stays that put you close to the coast, with easy access to the sea and a setting that suits a relaxed, waterside break. In practice, that can mean a full-service resort with spa facilities, a smaller hotel with good guest ratings, or a simple guesthouse that offers an affordable base for exploring the area. What matters most is not just the number of stars, but whether the property gives you the kind of practical, comfortable stay that works for a beach-focused trip.

Beppu itself is known for its hot-spring character as much as for its coastal setting, so the best beach hotels here often appeal to travellers who want both seaside air and a place to unwind. That makes this destination a strong fit for couples, families, solo travellers and anyone planning a slower-paced stay. If you want a more polished experience, InterContinental - ANA BEPPU RESORT & SPA and Suginoi Hotel stand out among the higher-end options. For something more traditional or low-key, Ryokan Nagomitsuki and Tenku Yubo Seikaiso offer a different style of stay, while Guest House Sunline Beppu and Guesthouse Sunline Beppu suit budget-conscious visitors.

This list includes a range of levels, from 1★ guesthouses to 5★ resorts, so it works whether you are looking for comfort, value or a simple overnight base near the coast.
