Beach hotels in Block Island suit travellers who want to stay close to the island’s shoreline and make the most of a coastal break without unnecessary fuss. In practice, that means properties with an easy beachside feel, sea views or a setting that keeps the water and sand at the centre of the stay, rather than hotels that are simply on the island. On Block Island, that usually appeals to couples, families and friends looking for a relaxed summer escape, with simple access to swimming, walking and time outdoors.

The best options in this list span comfortable 2★ and 3★ stays, so there is a useful range of style and budget. Some, such as Ballard’s and Block Island Beach House, lean into a more direct beach holiday atmosphere, while others offer a quieter inn-style base with coastal surroundings. The National Hotel, Payne’s Harbor View Inn, Hotel Manisses, Rose Farm Inn, Champlin’s Marina & Resort and The Atlantic Inn all add their own take on island accommodation, from classic hotel stays to smaller inns and resort-style options.

Block Island itself is known for its laid-back pace and compact size, which makes it well suited to visitors who want a straightforward seaside break rather than a busy resort scene. A genuine beach hotel here is one that helps you enjoy that setting with ease, whether your priority is a view, a short walk to the water or a stay that feels closely tied to the coast.
