8 en iyi — Tarihi ve mirasa değer oteller — Beppu

Historic & heritage hotels in Beppu are best understood as stays that reflect the city’s long onsen tradition, rather than simply being old buildings. In practice, that means ryokan-style accommodation, a strong sense of place, and a setting that feels rooted in Beppu’s bathing culture, with attentive service, traditional rooms, and an atmosphere that suits slower, more considered travel. The most fitting options are often the ones that preserve a classic Japanese inn feel while still offering the comfort modern guests expect.

Beppu is a natural match for this kind of hotel list because the city is known for hot springs and a relaxed pace of travel. Historic and heritage-minded stays here tend to appeal to couples, solo travellers, and anyone who wants an authentic base rather than a standard city hotel. Properties such as Shinkiya Ryokan, Kannawa Yunoka, Ryokan Kiraku, Yukemuri no Sato Azumaya, and Bamboo and camellia of Oyado Hana Beppu all sit comfortably in that tradition, while Beppu Hotel Negura, BEPPU Risana, and Hotel Mori no Yu Resort offer more modest or contemporary alternatives within the same destination.

For this list, “historic & heritage” does not require a formal museum-like status. It is about character, continuity, and a connection to Beppu’s onsen identity, with guest ratings suggesting these are well-regarded places to stay. The result is a shortlist suited to travellers who value atmosphere, local style, and a stay that feels more distinctive than generic.
