Neden burada kalmalı — New York Borsa Binası
The New York Stock Exchange is the world’s largest stock exchange by market capitalisation, based in Lower Manhattan’s Financial District at 11 Wall Street and 18 Broad Street. Most travellers don’t come expecting an interior visit. They come to stand on Wall Street itself, see the marble façade and Broad Street colonnade, and be at the physical centre of U.S. securities trading. The distinctive thing to know up front is that it isn’t a museum or attraction in the usual sense. It’s a working financial institution with no public access, so the experience is about the exterior, the surrounding streets, and the historical weight of the place rather than anything you do inside.
Hakkında — New York Borsa Binası
The NYSE traces its origins to May 17, 1792, when 24 brokers signed the Buttonwood Agreement, creating an organised system for securities trading in New York. The main building you see today opened in 1903 at 18 Broad Street, designed by architect George B. Post in a Classical Revival and Beaux‑Arts style. A later annex at 11 Wall Street was completed in 1922. The Broad Street façade, with its Corinthian columns and sculptural pediment symbolising commerce and industry, is the most recognisable feature. Behind it sits the main trading floor, which is not accessible to visitors. The complex was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1978. What you experience as a visitor is the exterior architecture, security‑lined streets, and the sense of standing in a place that has anchored U.S. financial markets for more than two centuries.
