为什么住在高线公园附近
The High Line is a 1.45‑mile elevated public park built on a former freight rail line along Manhattan’s West Side. It runs from Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District to West 30th Street at Hudson Yards, letting you walk above city streets through gardens, preserved steel tracks, and rotating public art. People come because it’s an easy, linear stroll that connects neighborhoods, museums, food halls, and hotels without tickets or gates—just stairways and elevators every few blocks. The most distinctive thing is the perspective: warehouses, avenues, and the Hudson River sit at eye level as you move through a landscape shaped by the site’s rail past.
关于高线公园
The structure began as the West Side Elevated Line, built in the early 1930s as part of New York’s West Side Improvement Project to remove dangerous street‑level freight trains. The first train ran in 1933, carrying meat, dairy, and produce directly into factories, including what’s now Chelsea Market. As trucking replaced rail from the 1960s onward, sections were demolished and trains stopped entirely by the 1980s. Left abandoned, wild plants colonized the tracks.
In 1999, residents Joshua David and Robert Hammond founded Friends of the High Line to save and reuse the structure. After CSX donated it to the city, construction began in 2006, and the first section opened in 2009. Today, the park is owned by the City of New York and operated and funded primarily by Friends of the High Line with NYC Parks. Walking it, you’ll see original rails threaded through planting beds, seasonal gardens, overlooks to 10th and 11th Avenues, and large‑scale artworks, including pieces on the High Line Plinth near 30th Street.

怎么到那里
The High Line runs parallel to 10th and 11th Avenues on Manhattan’s West Side. Useful subway stops include 14th Street (A/C/E or L), 23rd Street (C/E), and 34th Street–Hudson Yards (7), all a short walk from entrances. There’s no parking on the park itself, and nearby street parking is limited.
值得先知道的事
- Entry is free and no ticket is required; you can enter and exit at multiple streets.
- Restrooms are only at Gansevoort Street, 16th Street, and 30th Street—plan stops accordingly.
- Bikes, scooters, pets (except service animals), and smoking aren’t allowed on the park.
- Alcohol is permitted only in authorized areas; food is otherwise allowed.
- Midday crowds ease if you enter at less busy access points like 16th or 20th Street.

高线公园附近住哪里好
Staying close saves time and lets you visit early or late, when the park is quieter. Chelsea is the most practical option because the High Line passes directly through it, with multiple entrances and subway lines. The Meatpacking District suits guests wanting to be steps from the southern entrance and nightlife, while Hudson Yards suits newer hotels near the northern end and the 7 train. If you prefer calmer streets and classic dining, the west side of Greenwich Village is a slightly longer walk but still convenient.
