Die 5 besten Hotels mit Villen in Assisi

Hotels with villas in Assisi suit travellers who want space, privacy and an easy rhythm for exploring one of Italy’s most celebrated hill towns. Assisi is anchored by the UNESCO-listed Franciscan complex, including the Basilica of San Francesco with its Upper and Lower churches (whc.unesco.org; britannica.com). You’ll also find the lesser-known but hugely important gateway to Franciscan spirituality in Santa Maria degli Angeli, home to the Papal Basilica of Saint Francis and the Sacred Convent—close enough for day trips, yet different in feel from the medieval core.

Choosing a villa-based stay works especially well for couples on a slow itinerary, families who appreciate separate living space, and groups that prefer quiet outdoor areas over busy town-centre streets. It’s also ideal for guests who want to switch from sightseeing to downtime quickly—villas generally place you among gardens, countryside views and calmer roads, while keeping major sights within a short local journey.

Within our selection, examples include Villa San Francesco, Villa Serena, Villa Assisi, and Le Case Dell’Olmo (4★), each fitting the “villas” brief with a more residential, stay-in-style approach. For an even more curated retreat vibe, options such as Elegant Retreat in Umbria and Villa Reale by PosarelliVillas complement the same countryside-first concept.
