Tokyo hotels like a local.

Shinjuku offers excellent transport links, nightlife, and department stores. Shibuya is trendy with iconic crossings. Ginza has luxury shopping and dining. Asakusa provides traditional atmosphere near Senso-ji temple. Roppongi suits nightlife seekers. Marunouchi is ideal for business travelers near Tokyo Station.

Tokyo covers every budget, from capsule hotels and hostels through business hotels to international luxury brands, and prices surge during cherry blossom season (late March to early April) and Golden Week (late April to early May). We do not quote fixed nightly price bands here, because we have no sourced figure behind them. Search your dates to see live prices, and where we have enough recent sampled rates the price section on this page shows the current median nightly rate and the percentile range for the city.

March-April brings cherry blossoms but also crowds. October-November offers pleasant autumn colors. May has comfortable weather after Golden Week. Summer (July-August) is hot and humid. Winter is mild with fewer tourists. Skip rainy season (June) unless you don't mind indoor activities.

From Narita, the JR Narita Express reaches Tokyo Station in about an hour, the Keisei Skyliner reaches Ueno in about 41 minutes, and Airport Limousine coaches serve the major hotels directly. From Haneda, the Tokyo Monorail reaches Hamamatsucho and the Keikyu line reaches Shinagawa, both in around 13 minutes, with coaches also available. Taxis from Narita are very expensive and slower than the train. JR East, Keisei, Tokyo Monorail and Keikyu publish current fares on their own sites; we do not quote fares we cannot source.
